Prior to my career in psychotherapy, I worked in finance. I worked crazy hours, worked on my Master’s degree, and dated online. I was BUSY and my life was full. But I didn’t feel connected to much and was just going through the motions of trying to fit it all in. It felt confusing to me because I am naturally extroverted and have lots of energy.

I learned how to slow down.

I started to notice my impact. I watched how I affected others and how others affected me. I noticed when I felt energized by people or when I felt drained. I started to grasp what truly made me happy versus what “should” make me happy on paper. I learned what it meant to be fulfilled.

What does it mean to you to be fulfilled?

I now juggle 2 kids with my practice as a therapist and, while my days are still full, I know myself and my limitations. I can confidently ask for what I want and need. I have the life I was meant for. It’s a work in progress, of course, but I am on my way.
